About this artwork:
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, artists from all around the world are taking actioning during this pandemic by #stayhome and participating in HOME, the world’s first stay-at-home environmental mural festival.
Artists are usually found travelling the world spreading their creative and innovating ideas to public spaces. Due to COVID19 pandemic, artists will be instead transforming their white walls at home into visionary canvases for a brighter future.
Pangeaseed is giving artistic voice as we set our sights on a world post-coronavirus.
Now, more than ever, it is clear that environmental and human health is one. Due to this pandemic, we have witness a short period of reduced human activity that has significantly improved air quality, clarify waters and attract long-lost wildlife to urban centres.
What environment efforts will our world leaders do for economic recovery and public health? Ways to tackle global climate crisis? Protection of our wildlife?
In a time of isolation and uncertainty, apart we are still together. Art and creativity are critically important tools that can unite, inspire, and amplify important messages to the masses.
With this in mind, artists around the work have been called upon to create thought-provoking artworks that address the interconnection of humanity and the natural environment.
For my #paintforapurpose wall, I decided to draw ’Mandala Earth.’ Due to this #pandemic , our travels have been postponed and I am currently living in WA (not complaining). Although I wasn’t able to draw a mural on my own walls, I took my creativity to the next level. 'Mandala Earth' was drawn in the comfort of my own #home last night. I plucked up the courage to use photoshop to put ‘Mandala Earth’ onto my wall. I’ve never used photoshop before - so it was a new creative way to make the best out of a bad situation.
Thank you Pangeaseed for bringing artists together from all around the world to bring awareness to the environmental impacts post-COVID19.
